The Experience Centre app lets you control all the screens in a room from one tablet. You prepare a series of slides in advance and choose what each screen shows on every slide. During a visit, the host taps Next on the tablet and every screen in the room moves to the next slide together. Use it anywhere a host guides visitors through a story on several screens at once.

Executive briefing centres

Run client briefings on multiple displays without juggling laptops and HDMI cables.

Showrooms and product galleries

Switch the whole room to the product a visitor asks about, in one tap.

Training rooms and auditoriums

Keep side screens and the main screen on the same slide while the presenter talks.

How Experience Centre works

Two people use the app:

Before you start

Prerequisites:
  • Rooms and the Experience Centre app enabled on your account. Both are enabled on request, so if you don’t see them, contact support@pickcel.com.
  • A room created for each space, with its registered screens added to it.
  • Your slide images or videos uploaded to Media, one file per screen per slide.
  • A Pickcel user with the Operator role for each person running a room (Settings > Users).
  • A tablet (iPad or Android) for each room, connected to the internet or, on premise, to your Pickcel server.
Design each slide as a set of files, one per screen, sized to that screen (for example 1920 × 1080 for a landscape Full HD display). Name them by slide and screen, such as tour-s1-screen1, so they are easy to find in the media picker.

Save the presentation set

  • Click Create App.
  • The set appears under Presentation sets in the room view (as in step 2) and in your Media library as an app.
A slide must have media on every screen in the room, or none at all. Saving stops with a missing media message until you fill the empty screens or clear the slide. Fully empty slides are removed when you save.

Edit slides and presentations

Open the set with Edit, make your changes, then click Update.
Operators always get the saved version. Click Update before you present your changes.

Run a presentation from the operator app

Operators run the room from the Experience Centre operator app, built for a tablet but usable in any browser. Visitors don’t need it and can’t change the screens.
1

Open the operator app

  • On the tablet, open https://console.pickcel.com/suite/experience-centre/. On an on-premise server, use your server’s address followed by /suite/experience-centre/.
  • Sign in with the operator’s Pickcel account.
  • Add the page to the tablet’s home screen so operators can open it in one tap.
2

Choose a room

  • Select the room from the Rooms list.
  • The room shows its screens, whether they are online, and what is playing now.
  • Click Open on the presentation set.

  • Tap Show on any slide to jump straight to it. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys.
  • The slide on the screens is marked LIVE and ON SCREENS, and the following slide is marked UP NEXT.
  • Each screen column shows Live · Slide N, so you can confirm every screen changed. Next is greyed out on the last slide.

Switch to another presentation

  • Select another presentation tab. This only previews it; the screens keep playing.

  • To return to the live presentation without changing anything, click Go to presentation name.

Frequently asked questions

An experience centre (or experience center) is a space, such as an innovation centre, executive briefing centre or showroom, where hosts walk visitors through a story on several screens. Pickcel Experience Centre keeps all the screens in a room on the same slide and lets the host control them from one place.
  • Check that the screen is added to the room. Click Manage screens to see the room’s screens.
  • Make sure the screen’s player is registered and has come online at least once.
The room has no registered screens yet. Add screens to the room first.
  • No screens are connected in this room: every screen in the room is offline. Check the players’ power and network.
  • No screen confirmed the slide change: the screens didn’t respond in time and are still on the previous slide. Tap Next or Show again.
  • A screen column marked Offline won’t follow the slides until its player is back online.
  • The room needs at least one screen, and a presentation set created for it in the console.
  • Tap the refresh button at the top right to reload rooms and presentation sets.
  • A slide has media on some screens but not all. Fill the empty screens or use ⋮ > Clear media on that slide.
  • A presentation has no media at all. Add media to at least one slide or delete the presentation.
  • The set has no presentations. Add at least one.
Yes. Each screen on a slide takes one image or one video from your Media library.
Yes. Each column shows the screen’s orientation, and landscape screens are listed before portrait screens. Use media sized for each screen.
Usually one. Put every story for that room in the same set as separate presentations, so the operator can switch between them during a run.
The operator sets the duration when starting, from 5 minutes to 24 hours. The screens then go back to their default content, or earlier if the operator taps Stop. A console quickplay lasts 10 minutes.
Yes. The operator app runs in the tablet’s browser. Use one tablet per room, signed in with an operator’s Pickcel account, so two devices don’t send conflicting slide changes.
No. Only the set and its presentations are removed. The images and videos stay in your Media library.
