# How to send your first Pickcel Comms campaign?

> Set up Pickcel Comms on a test PC, add an employee, and send your first desktop notification, wallpaper, ticker, or screensaver campaign.

**Before you start**

* Admin login for [comms.pickcel.com](https://comms.pickcel.com)
* A Windows 10 (1607+) or Windows 11 PC to test on
* An image or video for your first message

<Steps>
  <Step title="Install the desktop apps on a test PC">
    - Go to **Settings** → **Downloads**.
    - Download and run **Screensaver** and **Notification** (the standalone installers, not the Intune packages).
    - Keep the Notification app running in the system tray.
    - Details: [Desktop apps](/comms/desktop-apps). For company-wide rollout, use [Intune](/comms/intune-deployment).

  <Step title="Add yourself as an employee">
    * Go to **Employee** → **Add Employee**.
    * Enter a **Display Name** and **Email**.
    * Under **Assign Screen**, pick your test PC (listed by Windows edition and hostname).
    * Click **Add Employee**.

  <Step title="Upload media">
    * Go to **Media** → **Upload Media** and add an image or video.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create a playlist (for Screensaver)">
    * Go to **Playlist** → **Create Playlist**, add media, and click **Save Playlist**.
    * Skip this if you're not using the Screensaver channel.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create and send the campaign">
    * Go to **Campaign** → **Create campaign**.
    * **Campaign Details**: enter a name.
    * **Channels**: turn on one or more channels and fill in each one.
    * **Audience**: **Select individual employees** → pick yourself.
    * **Delivery**: **Send now**.
    * **Review**: click **Send Now**.

  <Step title="Check the test PC">
    * Notification pops up, wallpaper changes, ticker appears.
    * Screensaver plays after the PC is idle for the Windows wait time.
    * Open the campaign under **Campaign** to see per-recipient status.

<Tip>
  A PC appears under **Assign Screen** only after one of the desktop apps has run on it.
